Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, modify plans of care as needed, and act as a clinical resource for staff and students. The role includes a sign-on bonus and potential relocation assistance for moving 50+ miles.

The PTA will educate patients and families, follow the PT plan of care, and document care per policy, with opportunities to participate in education and stroke care programs.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree and field of study Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days - American Heart Association.
• Board Eligible/Required to complete board exam on next available date; continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response with documented communication.
• Produces documentation per CTSCP67 Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements, if applicable.
• Follows treatment plan of care established by PT and provides therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy.
• Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR; coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions; communicates with referring provider on patient progress and treatment recommendations.
