Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to evaluate and treat patients under the supervision of a physical therapist. This role includes educating patients and families, implementing the plan of care, and documenting progress in the EMR.

Expect hands-on therapy such as exercise, gait training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy, with collaboration across the care team.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required (Physical Therapy Assistant track).
• Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in IL or eligible for licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with AHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families using clear teaching methods.
• Adheres to the plan of care; adjusts treatment per patient response and documented communication.
• Completes daily therapy documentation and electronic medical records entries.
• Provides modalities such as therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy as prescribed.
• Coordinates with supervising PT and communicates patient progress to the referring clinician.
