Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join the Acute Care team. The role requires at least 16 hours per month, including a weekend day, one holiday, and two support days per year.

The successful candidate will evaluate and treat patients, document progress, and coordinate with care teams. Virginia PT license or compact privileges and BLS certification are required on start; preferred candidates may have acute care PT experience or a doctoral degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
• Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required upon start.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy.
• Preferred: 1 year of acute care PT experience.

Responsibilities

• Select evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for patient diagnosis, age group, and status while formulating treatment plans.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Perform re-evaluations according to department guidelines and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Adheres to department policies regarding written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Therapist PRN Job Responsibilities:

• The Physical Therapist PRN selects evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the patient's diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.
