Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our Inpatient Rehab Therapy team. This PRN role includes 5 weekend shifts per quarter and at least one weekend shift per month, plus one Inova-recognized holiday per year.

The PT will have access to advanced technologies and 1:1 mentoring. We are a national healthcare leader in safety and patient experience, with strong recognition as a top employer in the DC area.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree required: Bachelor's in Physical Therapy.
• VA licensure or compact privileges required at start.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association at start.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates skills in treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Performs re-evaluations per dept. guidelines and adjusts plans.
• Completes evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries per policy.
• Gives instruction and supervision to assistive personnel per policy.
• Communicates with patients, families, medical staff, and care team.

Job description

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Inpatient Rehab Therapy team. This role will be PRN - 5 weekend shifts per quarter with at least one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) per month, and 1 Inova recognized holiday per year. Physical Therapist(PT) Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Gives appropriate instruction and supervision to assistive personnel consistent with program/clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
• Licensure:Physical Therapist upon start (VA licensure or compact privileges)
• Certification:Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon start
