Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Texas seeks a licensed physical therapist to serve pediatric patients (0–21) in home health or daytime facility settings, 2+ visits per week, per physician orders.

You will assess impairments, select testing, interpret data, and work with a multidisciplinary team, educating staff and caregivers; supervision of assistants may be provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in physical therapy from an accredited program
• License to practice physical therapy in Texas
• Experience in pediatrics required (New grads must have at least 6 weeks pediatric OT exposure)
• Home health experience preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Must have valid auto insurance and driver's license

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy for patients aged 0–21 in home or daytime facility, 2+ visits per week per physician orders
• Define degree and type of impairment using appropriate testing instruments
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written reports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan and evaluate goals and advise on PT modalities
• Plan for and modify care to meet PT goals
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients with training materials and in-service programs
• May supervise Certified PT Assistants

Requirements:

• Graduate degree from an accredited academic program in physical therapy
• License to practice physical therapy in the state of Texas
• Experience in pediatrics required (New grads must have a minimum of 6 weeks of pediatric OT experience - can include internship)
• Home health experience preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Must carry valid auto insurance and drivers license.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled physical therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders
• Define the patients degree and type of physical and gross motor impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific physical therapy modalities and interventions
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of physical therapy interventions
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with the total physical therapy program
• May provide supervision to Certified Physical Therapy Assistants
