Job summary

Ascension Providence in Waco, TX is seeking a Physical Therapist for Inpatient Rehabilitation (IPR). This PRN role focuses on evaluating patients, designing customized care plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to restore mobility and reduce pain.

You will collaborate with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams to set goals and ensure safe transitions, while mentoring support staff to uphold high clinical standards.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date or transfer date.
• PT credentialed by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners within 6 months of hire date or transfer date.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient conditions and design customized care plans to restore mobility and independence.
• Deliver evidence-based PT interventions ensuring optimal recovery and safe outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families and care teams to set goals and educate for smooth transitions.
• Guide PT assistants and students to maintain quality and safety.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Evaluate patient physical conditions through initial and ongoing assessments to design customized care plans that restore mobility, manage pain and rebuild functional independence.
• Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions tailored to each individual's needs, driving optimal recovery and safe physical outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, family members and multidisciplinary care teams to establish personalized treatment goals, provide clear education and support smooth care transitions.
• Guide physical therapy assistants, students and support personnel to ensure consistent clinical quality, high safety standards and strong team alignment.

Licenses/Certifications/Registration

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Physical Therapy (PT) credentialed from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
