Job summary

Seaport Scripps Home Health is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for our Home Health team serving San Diego County. This full-time, in-home position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and competitive hourly pay from $40 to $50.

As a PTA, you will provide in-home therapy under a licensed PT, assist with mobility, range of motion, and pain management, and educate patients on assistive devices. California PTA license and CPR required, with at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Active California PTA license required.
• Minimum 2 years of patient care experience; home health preferred.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with mobility, strength, pain management, and ROM exercises.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, and transfers.
• Utilize modalities such as heat/cold/electrical stimulation as ordered.
• Educate patients on assistive devices and safety.
• Monitor progress and report changes to the PT.

As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

• Provide in-home physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s Plan of Care (POC).
• Assist patients with mobility, strength, pain management, and range of motion exercises.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage.
• Educate patients on the use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, prosthetics).
• Monitor and report patient progress and changes in condition.

Qualifications

• Active California PTA license
• Minimum 2 years of patient care experience (Home Health experience preferred)
• Current CPR certificationValid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle
• Strong communication and organizational skills
