Job summary

Glendale Transitional Care Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our clinical team in California. We value our employees and support a professional work environment.

The PTA will administer treatments within scope of practice, perform tests, maintain patient confidentiality, and assist with discharge planning. California license and an associate degree are required; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a PTA in California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements for strength, coordination, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per an established plan of care.
• Maintains patient record confidentiality.
• Participates in home assessments when appropriate to support discharge planning.
• Completes required forms and documents per policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
