Job summary

Fruitvale Healthcare Center is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide patient-centered care within a supportive team in Oakland, CA. You will administer treatments, perform measurements, and follow a care plan while ensuring patient confidentiality.

Benefits include PTO and referral bonuses. A CA PTA license and an associate degree are required, with one year of clinical experience preferred. Sign-on bonuses are available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.

• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate in home assessments to ensure safe discharge with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms per company policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
