Job summary

Glendale Transitional Care Center is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Glendale, CA. The PTA will administer treatments, perform assessments, and support discharge planning under the supervision of a PT.

Required: Associate degree in PTA, California PT A license; one year of experience preferred, new grads welcome. Competitive benefits and a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in PTA program.
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Current California license to practice as a PTA.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements for strength, ROM, coordination, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per a plan of care.
• Maintains patient record confidentiality.
• May assist with home assessments to ensure safe discharge with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms per company policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
