Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and create individualized treatment plans based on functional goals.
• Provide PT services in inpatient swing bed and outpatient settings.
• Administer manual therapy and therapeutic exercises, especially for ortho/post-surgical patients.
• Assess mobility, strength, balance, and functional limitations.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and home programs.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate notes and discharge documentation.
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards and safety regulations.
• Adapt to changing patient volumes and provide coverage as needed.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Physical Therapist (PT) to join a rehabilitation team in Haskell, Texas. This position provides care across both inpatient swing bed and outpatient services, treating patients ranging from high school age through older adulthood.

The ideal candidate will have strong orthopedic rehabilitation and manual therapy skills, particularly in outpatient care, including post-surgical rehabilitation. The PT must be comfortable working across both settings as inpatient census and outpatient demand fluctuate.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on their functional needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Provide physical therapy services to inpatient swing bed and outpatient populations.
• Deliver manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and other appropriate interventions, particularly for orthopedic and post-surgical patients.
• Assess mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional limitations.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, injury prevention, and home programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards, patient safety practices, and applicable regulations.
• Adapt to changing patient volumes and provide coverage across inpatient and outpatient services as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Physical Therapist license.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or other qualifying physical therapy degree.
• Strong manual therapy skills and orthopedic rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Experience treating post-surgical patients is highly desirable.
• Ability to provide care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work with patients ranging from high school age through older adulthood.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records; Cerner experience is preferred.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
• Pay: $45 per hour.
• Sign-On Bonus: $5,000.
• Clinical Setting: Inpatient swing bed and outpatient rehabilitation.
• Patient Population: High school age through geriatric patients.
• EMR: Cerner.
