Job summary

The American Red Cross in Roanoke, VA is hiring for a Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service role. You will engage with donors, help create a welcoming environment, and ensure donations meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided, with opportunities to grow healthcare skills within the nation’s top humanitarian organization. Flexible schedule may include early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• DOT certification and valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of donations.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Be detail oriented to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements and safety standards.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites.
