Job summary

The American Red Cross in Fairfax, Virginia seeks a phlebotomy-support role where you will assist with blood collection, transport equipment, and maintain a welcoming donor environment. Training is provided and no prior medical experience is required.

You will work under a team to ensure safety procedures and donor comfort while contributing to lifesaving blood supply and community health. This position offers competitive compensation and a path for healthcare skill growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and standing for long periods with variable hours.
• All staff work as a team to setup and tear down the equipment required for mobile blood drives.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Maintain precision to meet goals, regulatory requirements and safe transfusion standards.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup/teardown at donation sites.
