Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified as a phlebotomy technician.
• Previous experience drawing blood or phlebotomy training course in approved program.
• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs all specimen collection by phlebotomy from the correct individual at in-house or off-site locations.
• Obtains other specimens when indicated and instructs patients in collection.
• Enter pathology specimens into LIS/HIS and ensure proper data entry and labeling.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and adhere to infection-control policies.
• Perform waived tests and assist in other testing platforms.
