Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform specimen collection by phlebotomy at in-house or off-site locations. You will assist with specimen processing, data entry into hospital information systems, and adherence to infection-control standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred certification as a phlebotomy technician and prior experience in a clinical laboratory environment. Shift is full-time, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with on-call no.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred certified phlebotomy technician.
• Experience with blood draws or phlebotomy training preferred.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection by phlebotomy for in-house or off-site locations.
• Enter patient registration data and test orders into hospital information systems.
• Prepare and process specimens following established guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, infection-control compliant work environment.
• Assist with waived tests and other testing platforms as needed.
