Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our Laboratory Draw Centers on a PRN day shift. This part-time role offers an opportunity to apply phlebotomy and lab skills in a patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include collecting blood samples, correctly identifying patients, transporting specimens, and completing related clerical and data-entry tasks. Prior hospital phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
• Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples and correctly identify patients.
• Transport specimens and perform related clerical and computer tasks.
• Register, order, collect, label, process and distribute specimens for testing.
• Utilize computer programs and perform data entry.
• Serve as central communications for the laboratory.
