Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a busy hospital and clinic environment. The role emphasizes patient engagement, safety, and teamwork, with a 9:00–5:30 schedule and 40 hours weekly.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, throat swabs, and work across Outpatient, Emergency, and Inpatient settings. On-call and holiday rotations may be required; BLS preferred; six months phlebotomy experience

Qualifications

• BLS required; HS diploma preferred.
• Six months phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy training or national certification preferred.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills required.
• Ability to work in fast-paced hospital and clinic settings.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swabs.
• Work with Outpatient, Emergency Department, and Inpatient populations.
• Maintain safety, comply with laboratory regulations, and PPE protocols.
• Communicate procedures with patients and families empathetically.
• On-call shifts and holiday rotations as needed.
