Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect and handle patient specimens for diagnostic testing while maintaining a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced hospital and clinic environment.

The role requires proficiency in venipuncture, capillary techniques, and specimen handling, with emphasis on PPE, safety, and teamwork. On-call and holiday rotations may be required to support patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS Required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens accurately in various settings (Outpatient, ED, Inpatient, newborns).
• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections.
• Adhere to PPE guidelines and safety regulations in all settings.
• Communicate procedures to patients and families with empathy.
• Register patients and participate in CODE response teams when needed.
• Support specimen processing and other lab responsibilities as required.
