Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. in Denver is seeking a Phlebotomist II to collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing in fast-paced hospital and clinic settings.

You will perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO and throat swabs, ensuring accuracy and safety while engaging with patients. You will work with a team, adhere to lab standards, wear PPE, and support multiple sites with occasional Saturday coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Twelve months phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy training or national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens using venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO and throat swab collections.
• Adhere to personal protective equipment requirements and safety standards.
• Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and families with empathy.
• Support growth and development through activities like patient registrations, CODE response participation, and coaching/preceptor roles.
• Perform specimen processing and send-out testing; participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement.
