Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician to collect blood specimens from adult and pediatric patients, enter orders in the Laboratory Information System, and prepare samples for testing and transport to reference labs. You will ensure proper labeling, specimen integrity, and timely processing while adhering to HIPAA and hospital policies.

The role requires phlebotomy certification, high school diploma, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in similar capacity preferred.
• CPT-A phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from adult and pediatric patients (venous, capillary, blood culture).
• Order tests in LIS and process requisitions.
• Prepare samples for testing and reference labs; ensure proper labeling and transportation.
