Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician (Phlebotomy) I to join our laboratory team. You will collect specimens, ensure accurate processing, and provide exceptional customer service to patients and providers.

Key responsibilities include data entry, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA and lab policies, while contributing to a team that prioritizes patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within six months of hire.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens safely, accurately and professionally.
• Process, transport, and refer laboratory specimens according to procedures.
• Support laboratory operations through data entry, reporting, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow laboratory policies.
• Ensure accurate and timely handling of laboratory reports and information.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers and coworkers.
• Complete competency and departmental training requirements under supervision.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork and patient-centered care.
