Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician II to collect blood specimens for adults and children, enter orders in the LIS, and ensure specimen integrity. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPT-A Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Minimum one year experience as an LST required; two years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood specimen collection (adult and pediatric) and label specimens.
• Enter orders in LIS and process requisitions accurately.
• Ensure specimen quality and proper labeling; maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Train and assess new staff; support daily operations and cross‑coverage.
• Communicate clearly with patients and staff; meet turnaround times.
