Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories / Laboratory Sciences of Arizona seeks a Phlebotomy Lead to manage an Anthem-based department. You will engage as a liaison, ensure accurate specimen handling, and drive quality initiatives while guiding staff in a patient-first environment.

Responsibilities include performance monitoring, scheduling, and training, with strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and teamwork to support continued operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of phlebotomy/test management experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Ability to solve complex problems and demonstrate leadership.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; customer service oriented.
• Strong regulatory, accrediting, and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform collection, receipt, and specimen preparation; enter data into the system; direct specimens to proper analytical area.
• Set goals, monitor metrics, investigate issues, and communicate root causes for quality improvements.
• Coach phlebotomists and staff; train new hires; oversee cross-training and development of leaders.
• Oversee daily operations, staff schedules, attendance, and licensing compliance.
• Support financial monitoring, supply usage, par levels, and staffing efficiency.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers; uphold patient-first values.
