Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories, Surprise, AZ, is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead the PSC-Surprise-J3T department during Day shift. The role serves as the primary resource and liaison between staff, other departments, and Patient Services management, ensuring high-quality specimen handling and adherence to policies.

You will coach staff, manage schedules, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining regulatory compliance and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in phlebotomy/test management in a clinical laboratory.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of regulatory, accrediting, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to perform complex problem solving and leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced skills in collection and receipt of specimens, entry into the lab system, specimen preparation, and distribution to analytical areas.
• Focus on quality improvement, analyze performance metrics, and document root causes of issues.
• Coach and mentor phlebotomists and staff; oversee training and performance evaluations.
• Oversee daily department operations, manage staff schedules, attendance, and PTO records.
• Support financial monitoring, supply management, and staffing adjustments while ensuring compliance.
