Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the PSC and in-office PST operations. You will perform phlebotomy and specimen collection, interact with patients and staff professionally, and ensure accurate data entry and requisitions in PathGroup systems.

The role emphasizes proper specimen handling, adherence to safety policies, and maintaining clean, organized work areas while supporting a positive patient experience across clinics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred (may be required by state guidelines).
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures and explains the venipuncture process clearly to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue per applicable laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup computer applications.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer with high accuracy.
