Job summary

Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to perform day-to-day phlebotomy tasks in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines. You will handle patient interactions, ensure accurate specimen collection and labeling, and assist with EKGs when trained.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, documenting deviations, prioritizing orders, and upholding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organized, able to prioritize, fast-paced environment, and possess problem-solving skills.
• Able to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across life span.

Responsibilities

• Receives patients courteously and follows organized workflow.
• Accurately obtain specimens, verify identity, label correctly.
• Perform EKGs when trained, where applicable and directed.
• Prioritize stat/urgent/timed orders and routine collections.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and neat work area.
• Monitor and input data in the computer system and printer labels.
• Maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Provide clear instruction to outpatients on specimen collection.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care for patients across life spans.
• Punctuality and adherence to attendance policies.
