Job summary

Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay, OH is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform day-to-day phlebotomy duties in accordance with standards and directives from Laboratory Director. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Ohio driver's license; must obtain within 30 days of residency.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; organized and able to prioritize.
• Ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and collect specimens with proper labeling.
• Prioritize stat, urgent, timed and routine orders for lab delivery.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
• Document deviations from standard procedures in the computer system.
• Instruct outpatients on specimen collection and ensure patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrate professionalism and positive attitude with patients and staff.
• Communicate clearly with patients, physicians and lab personnel.
• Adhere to attendance and punctuality policies.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care across patient age groups and follow safety policies.
