Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Positive, service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day phlebotomy duties per standards and regulations.
• Verify patient identity and correctly label specimens; perform EKGs when trained.
• Manage difficult draws and document deviations from standard procedures.
• Prioritize collection and delivery of STAT, urgent, timed, and routine orders.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and organize the workstation.
• Monitor and use laboratory computer systems and requisitions.
• Demonstrate professionalism and patient confidentiality; provide excellent customer service.
• Interact with patients, physicians, and lab staff to meet patient needs.
• Ensure age-appropriate care and adhere to safety policies.
• Maintain punctuality and attendance in accordance with policy.
