Job summary

Blanchard-Valley-Health-System is seeking a phlebotomist to perform daily blood collection in accordance with state and federal standards. You will verify patient identity, label specimens, prepare specimens for testing, and maintain quality specimen integrity.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team in a fast-paced hospital lab environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day phlebotomy duties following relevant standards and regulations.
• Obtain proper specimens, verify patient identity, label specimens accurately.
• Prioritize collection and delivery of routine, timed, stat and urgent orders.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and ensure neat, organized tray setup.
• Monitor and use the computer system for requisitions, batch tracking, and labeling.
