Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office PST, interacting professionally with clients and patients while collecting and processing specimens in accordance with established procedures.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to explain venipuncture procedures clearly, proper specimen labeling, and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred (state guidelines may require).
• Phlebotomist certification preferred; Louisiana requires it.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains venipuncture procedures clearly and courteously.
• Disposes of blood or biohazard materials per laws, standards, and policies.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer systems.
• Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and other required records.
