Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Positive, service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be organized, able to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Customer-focused and able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and apply age-appropriate care.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day phlebotomy duties in accordance with standards and Regulations.
• Verify patient identity and properly label specimens.
• Occasionally perform EKGs where trained.
• Prioritize collection and delivery of stats, urgents and routine orders.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and organize the tray.
• Monitor computer systems for batch processing and requisitions.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and patient confidentiality.
• Provide clear patient instructions on specimen collection.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, and staff professionally.
• Punctuality and adherence to attendance policies.
