Qualifications

• Ability to perform venipuncture techniques on adults, children and infants.
• Strong interpersonal skills to explain procedures and ease patient anxiety.
• Clerical skills to enter demographics, insurance, billing and test orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection and documentation in the patient computer system.
• Register patients, verify identity, enter orders and insurance information.
• Manage ABN/diagnostic codes, patient signatures and document scanning.
• Answer phones, file records, daily checklists and report delivery.
• Schedule venipunctures and capillary punctures, ensure proper collection and labeling.
• Label, wrap and transport samples and maintain procurement records.
• Follow universal precautions and hospital policies in all duties.
