Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate through NAACLS or completion of a program including 100 successful venipunctures.
• In lieu of internship, 6 months phlebotomy experience may be considered.
• In lieu of certification, 5+ years direct phlebotomy experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on adults, children and infants.
• Register patients and order tests per policies.
• Collect specimens and transport them according to procedures.
• Provide patient instructions and prepare documentation.
• Maintain records and ensure proper specimen labeling and tracking.
• Follow universal precautions and hospital policies.
