Job summary

McLaren is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection by venipuncture at in-house or off-site locations, educate patients, and ensure proper labeling, handling and transport. You may enter orders in LIS/HIS and assist with cytology prep as directed.

Requirements include a high school diploma; preferred phlebotomy certification and prior lab experience. Flexible shifts, including weekends, with emphasis on accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture for specimen collection.
• Collects, labels, handles, and transports specimens following procedures.
• Verifies and processes patient data and test orders in HIS/LIS.
• Assists with QC/QA activities and infection control.
• Educates patients on collection procedures.
• Performs waived tests and supports other testing platforms as needed.
