Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform specimen collection by phlebotomy and other specimen collection as needed. The role includes patient prep, labeling, processing, and storage of specimens, with work across in-house and off-site locations under supervision.

The candidate will enter test orders into hospital information systems, perform waived tests, support quality control, and assist in regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified phlebotomy technician preferred.
• Previous experience drawing blood or phlebotomy training in an approved program preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection by phlebotomy (blood and non-blood) with proper patient prep, labeling, handling, and storage.
• Enters patient registration data and test orders into hospital/laboratory information systems.
• Maintains safe, clean work environment and adheres to infection-control policies.
• Performs waived tests and assists in other testing platforms under supervision.
• Orients and trains new staff and ensures regulatory compliance.
