Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified phlebotomy technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs proper specimen collection (blood and non-blood) including patient prep, labeling, handling, and storage.
• Collects and enters patient data and test orders into hospital/LIS systems.
• Processes specimens per guidelines.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment and follows infection-control policies.
• Performs waived tests and supports other testing platforms.
• Assists with quality control and performance improvement.
• Ensures quality, timeliness, and customer service standards.
• Orients and trains new staff.
• Manages specimens and slides for references and transports.
