Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of phlebotomy experience or 6 months laboratory accessioning experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and phlebotomy techniques.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide good customer service.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic and computer use, including typing.
• Ability to reduce patient anxiety during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Extracts blood from patients and performs phlebotomy procedures per aseptic venipuncture technique.
• Document all phlebotomy rounds and ensure complete patient demographics and orders.
• Process specimens for testing: labeling, aliquoting, centrifuging, and distribution.
• Enter accurate demographics and verify specimen receipt in the system.
• Perform quality ECGs and manage donor screening and documentation.
