Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Phlebotomy Lab Assistant in Towson to perform phlebotomy, accessioning, and specimen processing under supervision. You will collect blood, document results, and ensure patient safety, working with hospital staff and students.

The role requires 6 months phlebotomy and accessioning experience, high school diploma, and strong communication skills. The schedule is Monday–Friday 1:30–10:00 PM with alternating weekends and on-call holidays.

Qualifications

• High School required for position.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience.
• 6 months laboratory accessioning experience.

Responsibilities

• Extracts blood from patients using aseptic venipuncture technique.
• Documents phlebotomy rounds and outpatient callbacks.
• Enters accurate patient demographics and lab orders.
• Prepares and processes specimens for testing (labeling, measuring, centrifuging).
• Distributes and retrieves specimens to/from appropriate areas.
• Performs Quality EKGs and donor screenings per protocol.
• Maintains donor room QC and universal precautions.
