Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Phlebotomy Lab Assistant to perform blood collection and accessioning with attention to accuracy and patient comfort. You will work under supervision, using standard techniques to collect specimens and deliver timely reports to customers.

The role includes preparing specimens, documenting results, and supporting ongoing training of staff and students. Schedule is 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM with every other weekend, holidays, and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
• 6 months of accessioning/related laboratory experience.
• High School education completed.

Responsabilités

• Extracts blood from patients using aseptic venipuncture.
• Document demographics and orders accurately in Meditech.
• Process specimens: labeling, measuring, centrifuging as required.
• Prepare and transport specimens to the lab in a timely manner.
• Assist in training co-workers and students.
