UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Lab Support Tech I to greet patients, perform phlebotomy, and support specimen collection across age groups. You will handle data entry, specimen labeling, and transport following standard protocols.

Responsibilities include maintaining work areas, assisting with lab registrations, and providing telephone support while upholding hospital standards. Weekend rotation and early hours are expected in this 24-hour operation.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy training; ASCP certification or eligibility.

Responsabilités

• Collects blood samples using venipuncture techniques across all age groups.
• Receives specimens in the computer system and labels them (STAT, STROKE, CSF) accurately.
• Transports specimens promptly and redistributes them per protocol.
• Maintains a clean and organized drawing station and restocks supplies.
• Registers courier-delivered specimens accurately and troubleshoots printer issues.
