Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Lab Support Tech I to perform phlebotomy across age groups, operate hospital information systems, and ensure accurate specimen collection and processing. The role involves labeling, transport, and coordination with clinical teams in a fast-paced lab environment.

The position requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and preferred phlebotomy training with ASCP eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Phlebotomy training and ASCP certification/eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples using venipuncture across all age groups.
• Label and prioritize specimens (STAT, STROKE, CSF) accurately.
• Transport and redistribute specimens per protocol.
• Maintain a clean, organized drawing station and restock supplies.
• Register courier-delivered specimens and troubleshoot printers.
