Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and applicable laws.
• Selects appropriate phlebotomy technique for patient age.
• Assesses sample quality based on patient age and test.
• Performs venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick on patients of all ages.
• Label samples correctly and transport to lab.
• Performs pre-analytical steps including bar coding, centrifuging, and staining.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and reagents.
• Maintains courteous relations with patients and staff.
• Performs other duties including patient check-in and providing prep instructions.
• Handles difficult patients professionally.
