Job summary

On-call position with variable days and hours. Must adhere to policies, maintain patient relations, and ensure accurate specimen handling and transport to the laboratory. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• One year phlebotomy experience in a medical setting or equivalent military experience.
• Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages.
• On-call duties require scheduling 8 days per month including 4 weekends.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Kaiser Permanente policies and applicable laws.
• Choose appropriate phlebotomy technique based on patient age.
• Perform venipuncture, finger or heel sticks as required.
• Label samples and transport to the lab.
• Handle pre-analytic steps including labeling, logging, and processing.
