Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Denver seeks a Phlebotomy Technician to support testing, delivery and distribution of lab results. You will perform phlebotomy, capillary puncture and other specimen collection procedures, following safety and QA policies.

You will greet patients, communicate collection instructions, enter results into the LIS and maintain equipment. Requires phlebotomy training and basic lab skills; on-site role with routine pager/on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited phlebotomy program and externship within last year preferred.
• Phlebotomy training or program with relevant externship/experience required; alternative is two years of concentrated phlebotomy experience.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy training acceptable per job requirements if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection per procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and accurate patient identification.
• Operate computer systems and LIS for test ordering and results.
• Provide courteous patient interactions and professional communication.
• Maintain equipment, assist with lab testing and specimen transport.
