Fairview Health Services is seeking a Laboratory Care Technician (LCT/Phlebotomist) at M Health Fairview Clinic in Fridley, MN, with cross-training to Brooklyn Park and Rogers clinics. Primary hours vary; 8-hour shifts plus occasional Saturdays.

The LCT conducts specimen collection, maintains LIS/HIS data, and supports quality assurance in a dynamic healthcare environment. The role emphasizes accurate specimen handling, patient communication, and readiness to work across clinics to ensure timely

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program.
• Three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience.
• Enrollment in an MLT or MLS program.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Successful customer service background within a diverse cultural setting.
• Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and blood collection skills.
• Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of clinic work.

Responsibilities

• Obtain biological specimens following established SOPs.
• Perform phlebotomy at multiple sites with proper technique.
• Communicate special handling needs of specimens.
• Demonstrate proficiency with point-of-care and waived testing.
• Enter orders and collection data into LIS/HIS accurately.
• Monitor quality control and troubleshoot equipment.
• Schedule tests/procedures and provide results.
• Maintain safety and infection control guidelines.
