Job summary

Atrius Health is seeking a Lab Associate in Boston, MA to collect blood and non-blood specimens and support routine laboratory operations. This per diem role requires flexible availability Mon–Fr, 7:45am–7pm when called in, with training provided for varied site requirements.

The position emphasizes accurate specimen handling, patient communication, and adherence to safety and quality controls within the laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Phlebotomy Technical Training Program preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of LIS and EMR systems beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens using venipuncture, skin puncture, and heel sticks.
• Collects non-blood specimens such as urine and sputum.
• Verify test requisitions for accuracy before collection.
• Assembles equipment for tests and procedures.
• Labels and stores collected specimens for processing.
• Performs clerical duties and processes related to specimens.
• Adheres to PPE and safety procedures; communicates with patients to ease anxiety.
