Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Boston, MA with Tuesday to Thursday 8:30 AM–1:30 PM and Friday 9:00 AM–11:00 AM shifts. The role includes specimen collection, processing, and data entry in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and phlebotomy certification is preferred (required in some states). Medical training such as MA or paramedic is a plus, with a one-year phlebotomy background preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties including inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones and emails.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance/temperature logs.
• Complete training courses timely.
