Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Lab Associate to collect blood and other specimens and deliver samples for processing. You will verify orders, prepare equipment and ensure patient comfort during procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy training and CPR/BLS certification are preferred. Experience with LIS/EMR systems is desirable. Benefits are offered with a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training preferred.
• CPR and Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Experience with LIS and EMR systems is advantageous.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Verifies test orders and prepares samples for processing.
• Maintains equipment and ensures patient comfort and safety.
• Performs basic testing, calibration, and quality control as needed.
• Documents collections, manages specimen labeling, and assists in training staff.
