Job summary

Optum is seeking a part-time Lab Associate in Boston to collect blood and non-blood specimens from patients, provide information about tests, and ensure accurate sample handling. You will work in a clinical laboratory setting within the Laboratory department, supporting daily operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and prefers phlebotomy training and PBT certification, with experience in LIS/EMR and BLS. Training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Phlebotomy technical training preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification preferred.
• Experience with LIS/EMR and basic life support (BLS) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens and non-blood samples per protocol.
• Verifies patient identity and informs about procedures.
• Labels, stores and processes samples for testing.
• Performs basic testing and quality control tasks as needed.
• Maintains neat work area and restocks supplies daily.
• May greet patients and assist as receptionist as needed.
