Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience or completion of accredited phlebotomy program.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification desired.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Customer service experience helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work; manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, visitors, physicians, and Associates professionally.
• Maintains inventory of phlebotomy supplies and patient preparations.
• Trains new associates and students in phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs venipuncture and dermal puncture accurately and efficiently.
• Labels and processes specimens per policies.
• Accounts for specimen accessioning and delivery to the lab.
• Answers phone inquiries and directs calls as needed.
• Enters test orders and patient data in the LIS accurately.
• Provides reports to physicians and nursing staff when requested.
• Prints daily workflow reports and communicates delays to supervisor.
• Adheres to policies, confidentiality, and quality standards.
• Fosters teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
